I think SafeLog owns me now and I should just accept that fact. I tried migrating to ForeFlight once, and it just wasn't working out the way I wanted. I HATE the look/feel of Safelog, although the mobile is marginally better. If I only flew my RV it would be a different story, but I work out of a busy flight school and fly bunch of different aircraft - singles and twins - and it helps me stay organized. I keep the electronic one because it makes doing 8710s, tracking my instrument currency and medicals a breeze.īeing able to set the same number of rows on the screen lets me audit both logbooks against each other, which makes it MUCH easier to find discrepancies when I'm adding things up. There are many things I dislike about SafeLog but I keep re-upping my subscription each year because of one major feature: They have apps for your phone and tablet, and everything syncs to the website so you always stay up to date. This will protect all the locked cells in the top few rows so you cannot later inadvertantly over-write your time carried forward or a total time.I use Safe Log and really like it. Finally, when you have personalized it to your liking, I strongly suggest protecting the sheet (Home-Cells-Format-Lock Sheet, and use default settings). Note that the autopopulate uses my home airport and aircraft number have a look in the formulae for the cells, and you will see this and you can change it to your own data.ĥ. Just enter the date (Cntrl:), maybe some notes, and you are good to go. All the other cells for that row will then auto-populate. However, if, like me, you tend to fly mostly one aircraft, then the little calculator in columns X and Y allows you just to enter current Hobbs time (1st entry), and thereafter all you have to do after each flight is enter your return Hobbs time (I usually just take a photo of the Hobbs with my phone, because I'm too idle to write it down.
